Darren lands biggest cod

HARRINGTON Sea Angling Club held their mini Christmas competition on Saturday.
Thirty-four anglers fished between Harrington and Workington from 3pm to 7pm.
Fishing three hours of flood tide and one of ebb, the competition was for heaviest fish only of any species.
A lot of smaller species were caught but cod fish took first, second and third prize.
First was Darren Pape from Flimby with a cod weighing 3lb 14½oz.
Second was Philip Sibbald from Salterbeck with a cod of 3lb 4oz and third was Luke Holliday from Flimby with a cod weighing 3lb 3oz.
Thanks to all the anglers who took part and the staff of Harrington Legion.
The club will be holding a meeting in Harrington Legion on January 5 at 7.30pm.
