Hunter Bros win at Flimby

DAVID Buglass of Broughton was the judge at the Flimby West Coast Flying Club’s show for old hens.
The show, sponsored by Michael Pattinson. of Lowca, attracted 41 entries.
Tickets: 1, Hunter bros; 2, 3, Wood and son; 4, N Hodgson and grand-daughter; 5, 6, Hadfield and Devlin; 7, Ellwood and co; 8, Scott Walton.
Next week’s show is for old cock or hen, penning at 1pm and judging at 2pm.
The Flimby West Coast club is also holding three show races ahead of next season.
The opening show is for Marlborough or its equivalent) and is at the Princess Royal on December 21, followed by Portsmouth No1 or equivalent on December 28 and Fougeres or equivalent on January 4.
All three show races are open to all Derwent Valley and West Cumberland Federation members and all the money will be paid out.
The price of a pen in the shows will be 25p a bird with a £1 single bird nomination in all three. It will be £2.50 per bird in the two inland races and £5 for Fougeres.
For Marlborough any members entering pigeons in the show will be eligible to enter the same number of pigeons in the race.
However from Portsmouth and Fougeres only birds in the show will be eligible for the two races.
Penning at 1pm and judging at 2pm.
