Shopping for some bargains

Shoppers have always been after a bargain in Cumbria – and not just at Christmas. As these photos show, locals were always keen to see what was on offer at a new shop or to grab a bargain as outlets put on sales.
While some things haven’t changed, some have. Carlisle no longer has its very own clog shop but still has specialist camera shops and plenty of clothes outlets.
