Street will reopen early

PART of Penrith which was closed while work on the New Squares project was carried out is to reopen a month early.
Princes Street was closed as part of the New Squares Development, to allow engineers to inspect three of its buildings.
Now they have been judged to be unstable, and while they do not pose a danger to shoppers they need to have their facades dismantled.
This means that the street will be reopened in mid-September, instead of mid-October when it was originally planned.
The work to dismantle the buildings will take five to six weeks.
