Triathlon for the hospice

PENRITH is to host a triathlon to raise funds for the Eden Valley Hospice.
Eden Council, Parkwood Leisure and Arragons Triathlon Club have organised the sporting event to coincide with celebrations as the Beijing Olympics come to a close.
Their Raising the Flag open day will be held at Penrith Leisure Centre on Sunday, August 24.
There will be a 400m swim in the centre’s pool, a 25km cycle loop out of the town on open roads and a 5km run on school fields next to the centre.
Those who have not tried triathlon before, as well as seasoned triathletes, are encouraged to get involved.
Entry forms are available from Mansion House, Town Hall, Penrith Leisure Centre and Arragons or at www.eden.gov.uk/leisure-and-culture/penrith-triathlon-2008/ online.
