A Dovenby teenager has reached the semi-finals of a British personality contest.
Beth Faulder, 15, a Cockermouth School pupil, was chosen after submitting photos to Miss Teen Great Britain.
Her online photos will now be assessed by judges, and if she is successful she will compete against 60 other contestants in a grand final in Blackpool on Sunday, September 25.
The winner will receive £1,000, a photo-shoot, holiday in Plas Colwyn and an introduction to Euroteens and EKA Model & Actor Management.
Beth said that if she won she would celebrate by raising money for the Great North Air Ambulance and Bliss, a charity which helped her nephew Keenan Musgrave, seven, when he was born weighing 1lb 13ozs.
Beth said: “I started doing shoots about two years ago but I’ve never entered my pictures into a competition like this before.
“It has been something I wanted to do as I am interested in going into fashion or modelling.
“My friends and family have been a great support. Entering the competition has shown me and other people that you can achieve what you want. It would mean the world to me and my family if I got through to the final.”
Beth’s mum Janet said: “It is something she’s always wanted to do. We are really proud.”
